Hey, I’m Ana!
My family is Colombian and I grew up in Southern Illinois; this mix of cultural backgrounds has led to my dynamic perspective. Paired with this, my Manufacturing and Design Engineering (MaDE) major is a representation of my curiosity and passions.
Growing up, my interest in math drove my studies with the iterative and open minded problem solving approach it entails. I also loved exploring nature and progressing my photography skills. The creativity and fine details capturing photos brings together fueled my passion for product design. Searching for a way to combine my excitement towards both Engineering and Design, I found the perfect intersection in my major of MaDE at Northwestern University.
With MaDE, I explored a variety of areas, from mechanical and industrial engineering, to product and UX design. Throughout my courses and projects, I developed a work style that prioritizes research in order to thoroughly understand and discover opportunities for solutions.
On my own time, I worked on the Design and Social Media teams for Northwestern Art Review, advancing my creative, communication, and organization skills, while also learning about and critiquing art.
Now, I hope that you get to know my thoughtful and spontaneous personality looking through my work, check out my photography below, and please connect with me after, as I would love to hear about you and your favorite products, designs, art, and more!
